Dealing with Tragedy

Job in dealing with his tragedy had this to say:

For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.”

Job was not speaking about his own demise, he was not speaking of losing his wealth . . . but his children. Job knew his Redeemer and had the faith according to

Job 19:25-26 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God

We have an enemy who tries to exploit our fears . . . the greatest fear I believe is that of death. Maybe not even our own, but as in Job’s situation that of his loved ones! I can only imagine the pain and suffering of losing children as he did! But when we consider the reality of the situation  that should we lose our loved ones we have the hope of seeing them again in the New Kingdom.

This is a hard subject to meditate on . . . because we do have the hope of the Eternal Life promised to those who put their Faith in Him. Yet we can struggle with unanswered questions and the unknown.  BUT God knows all things . . .if we take that step of Faith and hold His hand, we shall receive the answer found in Romans 8:28:

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”
