Do you know what can be discouraging? Wanting to know the truth about a situation and having two or more divergent points of view. Because then you are left with the question of asking which one is correct. Or that each one may have some of the truth but not all. Like Abraham Lincoln once attested: ““The will of God prevails. In great contests each party claims to act in accordance with the will of God. Both may be, and one must be, wrong. God cannot be for and against the same thing at the same time.”
As we see from President Lincoln’s assessment both the North and the South believed they were correct in their actions and ambitions. But both could not be right! Jesus tells us there are two roads on leading to the Kingdom. The first which is narrow and few there be that walk on that road. The second road is broad, well-travelled. And many are there on this road. The problem is that these people on the 2nd road believe they are right The Scripture says there is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof is the way of death. So, two opinions, one is right, only one!
When we are we pulled over by a policeman only one thing matters: was I breaking the law? If so, then no matter my personal assessment or opinion, no matter my emotional state at the time: I am guilty!
That is why we need to know the truth right now about life. Are we really just a bunch of proteins and amino acids that came together with a strike of lightening and a rock? What if this is not the case? What if we were created, (and by the way more scientists all the time are admitting intelligent design) and there is a set of guidelines given us by that Creator. And what if those guidelines or laws really do bring out the best to and for one another? And what if we will be judged by these sets of laws one day in the future? Good intentions and philosophies will save no one on that day. JUST TRUTH! And by the way in order to know what that truth is you will find it in the Bible. Jesus said: “I am the truth, the way and the life”
